A big catalogue, made easy to choose from.

Wildkard sells sport, activewear and personal-care products across men’s, women’s and children’s ranges. A site already existed; the goal was a modern, scalable ecommerce experience to replace it — rebuilt on Shopify, from visual design and UI through to the implementation.

The challenge

Breadth is a navigation problem.

Wildkard’s offering spans several ranges and a wide product mix. The new site had to hold a large, diverse catalogue while keeping navigation clear, product discovery fast and the shopping journey smooth.

The real difficulty was choosing the right design direction — and then translating it into a Shopify experience that stayed simple for the customer.

The principle

Easy to navigate. Fast to choose.

Rather than adding interface elements, the design created clear paths through the catalogue and made products easy to surface.

The result is a cleaner, more structured shopping journey built around how people actually browse and decide.

The rebuild

Design and implementation, not a handoff.

Shopify was treated as part of the experience, not as a backend the design was handed to.

01

Visual design & UI

The design direction for the new brand presence, set against the practical reality of a broad catalogue.

02

Theme development

Shopify setup and configuration, custom theme development and Liquid work across the storefront.

03

Templates & structure

Product and collection templates, navigation and site structure designed so the catalogue can grow without collapsing.

04

Mobile optimisation

The full journey tuned for phones, where most of the browsing and the buying happens.

05

Migration & integrations

Catalogue migration and ecommerce functionality wired in, with the integrations the business already depended on.

06

SEO through the rebuild

Search considerations carried through the migration, so a redesign did not cost the store its existing visibility.

UX first

Discover → Navigate → Understand → Choose → Purchase

The objective throughout the rebuild was reducing friction along that path. Every design decision was evaluated against one question: does this make it easier and faster for the customer to find what they want?

Anything that failed the question did not ship.

My role

Strategy → UI/UX → Design → Shopify → Development → Migration

Handling both the creative direction and the technical implementation meant design decisions could be made against the actual ecommerce experience rather than against a mockup.

No translation loss between the design and the store.

The result

A stronger presence on a foundation that scales.

A clearer, easier-to-navigate shopping journey; a more polished and consistent digital presence that strengthened Wildkard’s positioning; and a Shopify platform the team can keep extending as the catalogue grows.

The takeaway

A successful rebuild is not more features.

It is an experience where customers can find what they need, understand their options and decide quickly. For Wildkard, that came from combining the visual design, the practical UX and the full Shopify implementation in one place.

Same problem?

Large catalogues, slow decisions.

If customers cannot find the right product quickly, the catalogue is working against you. A 30-minute call is enough to see whether the problem is navigation, templates or the platform underneath.
